In August I did an assignment for CARE in Ecuador and learned how the department of risk management at the municipality of Guayaquil is taking an inclusive approach and is preparing its inhabitants, even in the informal neighbourhoods, for natural disasters. Guayaquil is one of the most vulnerable coastal cities in the world, and is suffering from the consequences of climate change. This week my story on climate change resilience was published in El País, as an article and photo gallery.
